Personal Trainer, Nutrition & Health Coach, Yoga Teacher
Tell us a bit about you and your journey…
I have always been incredibly active, growing up it was a constant balance act between competitive sport and dancing. After high school I pursued my professional dancing career, and being such a physically demanding profession, I was always very conscious of health and fitness. My body was my livelihood.
A few years later I decided that I wanted to be able to share what I was learning with others and became a Personal Trainer. My love for Women’s fitness blossomed and the fire has been burning bright ever since. But along the way, I learnt that Fitness is so much more than the physical. Our mental and spiritual health need just as much love and attention, if not, perhaps more. This is why I decided to further my learning and certify myself as an Advanced Nutrition and Health Coach and a Certified Yoga Teacher.
The more I learn, the more I realise how much I don’t know! But I absolutely love this Health space, and I’m sure I will be a lifelong student.
What is your proudest moment thus far?
That’s hard for me to say. I aim to be grateful for every little win and to learn and grow equally from every set back. I’m proud of so many things that I have achieved career wise. But for me, my truly proudest moments have been to do with my personal growth as a human as well as seeing the growth and success of my clients.
Tell us about your morning routine
Mornings for me are all about laying a healthy foundation for the day ahead. The first thing that I do is drink a big bottle of water, then head to the gym for my workout (4 days per week). Once I’m home, I’ll prepare a wholesome breakfast and a turmeric latte and take some time to check on emails and plan my day. Most mornings I’ll then do my yoga practice and meditation. If the yoga can’t happen, the meditation is a non-negotiable. I will usually have most of this done by 9 or 10am and can then get into my day feeling energised and centred.
What’s your favourite PranaOn product?
The Protein Powders are my favourite. And right now the Rich Chocolate flavour has my heart! As a Vegan it’s so great to have such a high quality source of protein in my day-to-day diet that is quick and simple. My life is often on the run, so being able to pack a shake is a life saver.
What’s your favourite way to use it or incorporate it into your healthy lifestyle, and why?
I love to mix the original flavoured greens into my protein smoothies every day as they have barely any flavour and it doubles the goodness! Such an easy way to get your greens in and compliment my diet. I’m also a HUGE fan of the stainless steel shakers. The less plastic in my life the better!
Tell us something interesting about yourself or a hidden talent
Before I was a trainer I was a professional dancer all over the world! My main style was hip hop, but was trained in most styles and studied dance after high school.
No superstitions as such! But I believe in the magic of manifestation and keeping good karma. Our minds can be our greatest strength and strongest tools. I can’t speak highly enough to positive thinking and self belief.
Do you prefer training in the morning or evening?
Definitely mornings! I’ll be honest, there seems to be too many excuses not to go if I leave it until the end of the day haha.
Where can we find you on a Saturday?
With my family and friends, outdoors or in the water.
What’s on the horizon for you?
To always keep learning and studying In the health and wellbeing space for the rest of my life. But soon I’ll be venturing to combine my PT, Yoga and Health Coaching into one place. It’s my plan to bring a completely holistic approach to health and fitness to my clients and share this knowledge with as many people as possible.
