Tell us a bit about you and your journey…

I was raised as an ethical vegetarian from birth, and experienced first-hand the
benefits of whole-food, plant-based nutrition without ever having consumed meat,
fish, or eggs. As I entered adulthood and my passion for health and fitness grew, I
learned more about the profound impact our diet and lifestyle choices can have, both on our personal well-being and that of the planet. I made the switch from vegetarian to a fully vegan lifestyle at the beginning of 2015, and haven’t looked back since! From a moral, personal, and environmental perspective, I believe that veganism is truly the way of the future, and the most responsible choice we can make as conscientious citizens of the earth.
The desire to challenge myself and to represent vegan fitness at a competitive level motivated me to become a member of Team PlantBuilt, the largest organization of vegan athletes in the world. I realized a lifelong dream by stepping onto a bodybuilding stage for the first time at the Naturally Fit Super Show in June 2017, where I won first place in my class against a stacked lineup of omnivorous
competitors. Since then I have gone on to compete a second time at the ICN
Melbourne Championships in May 2018, where I was pleased to bring home first place in my class once again.
Leading by example is one of my core values, and I enjoy breaking stereotypes and drawing positive attention to the vegan movement by being a visibly strong, fit, plant-based role model. I find it very fulfilling to put my knowledge and experience to use as a coach, helping like-minded individuals both here in Australia and worldwide to reach their full potential and enrich their quality of life.

What is your proudest moment thus far?

Competing as a member of Team PlantBuilt at the Naturally Fit Supershow in June
2017, where I won first place in my class at my first ever physique competition.

Tell us about your morning routine.

I start the day by drinking a big glass of water, which helps me to wake up fully and
keep myself hydrated. I then perform my meditation and gratitude practice, followed
by 10-15 minutes of stretching and foam rolling, to make sure my mind and body are
primed for the day ahead. Once that’s done I’ll have my go-to breakfast of oatmeal
with soymilk and berries, and then I’m ready to start work!

What’s your favourite way to use it or incorporate it into your healthy lifestyle, and why?

My favorite way to use Power Plant Protein is to incorporate it into my post-workout
smoothies that I have almost every day. I love that it contains only top-quality, all
natural ingredients, which allows me to optimize my training and recovery as an
athlete while also benefiting my overall health.

Tell us something interesting about yourself or a hidden talent.

I grew up in Virginia on the east coast of the US, and moved to Melbourne in August
2017. I love being a part of the thriving vegan community here!

Any superstitions?

Nope!

Do you prefer training in the morning or evening?

I prefer training in the early afternoon, as it allows me to get at least two full meals in
beforehand, to fully fuel my workout. As a bonus, gyms are usually quietest around
that time!

Where can we find you on a Saturday?

Either at the gym training, catching up with friends, or spending quality time with my
girlfriend walking in nature or eating delicious vegan food.

What’s on the horizon for you?

I plan to continue training and competing in bodybuilding, to lead by example and
show that it is possible to achieve athletic excellence without harming animals. I will
continue to build my fitness coaching business so that I can connect with like-minded
individuals all over the world, and share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to
help inspire more fit vegan role models and bring about the plant-based revolution!
