Qualified Nutritionist and CrossFit athlete
Starting up my own practice as a Nutritionist and being able to help so many individuals improve their health and wellbeing and change their lives for the better. I’m so incredibly grateful to get to do what I do!
Tell us a bit about you and your journey…
I was born in Switzerland and moved to WA with my family when I was 6. At the age of 9 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and around the same time got into competitive swimming and running, and later triathlons. Throughout my teenage years I battled a severe eating disorder and spent many months in hospital and treatment.
After re-learning how to nourish and care for my body, finding the plant based lifestyle, and then completing my studies in Nutrition and Dietetics, I found my way into CrossFit and weightlifting, which I’ve found a huge passion for!
Now, I work as a nutritionist, working with people from all over the world in better their health and wellbeing through nutrition, and making peace with food, with a specialty in sports nutrition and eating disorders. I also run my blog and Instagram page, create wholesome recipes, and am working hard in the gym to get stronger and compete in my sport!
What is your proudest moment thus far?
Travelling across the world by myself to LA where I was the chef and nutritionist for an incredible retreat and connected with amazing people and pushed myself further out of my comfort zone than ever before!
Also competing in multiple sporting events (CrossFit competitions, ocean swims, triathlons) with type 1 diabetes – proving to myself than others that having diabetes will not stop me from achieving my goals!
Tell us about your morning routine
When I’m not training in the morning, I always start my day taking my dog for a walk and listening to a podcast, followed by a delicious breakfast before I get to work.
What’s your favourite PranaOn product?
My all-time favourite is the Power Plant protein in Coconut Milk flavour. I love the taste and how versatile it is!
What’s your favourite way to use it or incorporate it into your healthy lifestyle, and why?
I love adding my PranaON protein to my bowl of oats after training. Not only does it boost the protein content to help refuel my body properly, keep my energy and blood sugar levels stable throughout the day, but it also just takes my oats to a whole new level of delicious!
Tell us something interesting about yourself or a hidden talent
I speak fluent Swiss German, German and English. English is actually my second language!
Not a superstition but I’m a big believer in the Law of Attraction!
Do you prefer training in the morning or evening?
I LOVE both. I honestly couldn’t pick!
Where can we find you on a Saturday?
I always train Saturday morning, followed by a good breakfast and a long walk with my dog and fam. In the afternoons I might be at the beach, catching up with friends, or out and about with my family!
What’s on the horizon for you?
For now, I just want to keep expanding my knowledge, learning and growing both in my field of nutrition and in my everyday life. And a big goal of mine is to start competing in bigger CrossFit comps!
Favourite motto to live by:
One of my favourite quotes to live by is: ‘Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.’
